The Ksport Procomp Big Brake Kit is engineered to provide superior stopping power for your Volkswagen MK3 Golf, specifically for models with a 5x100 bolt pattern. The kit integrates advanced brake technology to reduce brake fade and continuously cool and refresh the brake pad surface during braking. Constructed with meticulous attention to detail, the kit features a lightweight, one-piece forged caliper CNC-machined from aircraft-quality billet aluminum. This construction eliminates weak spots, preventing fracturing, warpage, and long-term failure. The calipers house aluminum pistons for improved heat resistance and are equipped with high-temperature seals and stainless-steel wear plates. The opposed-piston design ensures consistent brake pad grip and wear. Lightweight center sections crafted from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum minimize rotational mass, leading to quicker stopping and more responsive braking. This design also mitigates rotor warping due to heat expansion. For daily driven vehicles, cross-drilled rotors are recommended as they tend to run cooler than slotted rotors. Slotted rotors are suggested for vehicles that see more track use. Included in the standard kit are SC5 Street Pads, offering optimal braking performance for street and occasional track use with reduced brake dust and noise. An upgrade to RCI Race Pads is available for extreme track conditions. The kit also features D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines that prevent expansion under pressure, leading to a quicker pedal response and a firmer pedal feel.
