This front brake kit is specifically designed for the MINI R53 Cooper and includes replacement calipers, rotors, pads, and brake lines, along with related hardware for a comprehensive upgrade. Constructed with meticulous attention to detail, the calipers are forged from a single billet of aerospace-grade aluminum, ensuring lightweight construction, unparalleled strength, and resistance to corrosion. They feature aluminum pistons with heavy-duty seals capable of withstanding high temperatures, promoting smooth operation and preventing drag. The opposed-piston design ensures consistent brake pad wear, and high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel wear plates are standard. The kit includes SC5 Street Pads, which offer optimal performance for street and occasional track use, with reduced dust and noise. The two-piece rotor design contributes to lightweight performance and fade-free operation. The lightweight center sections, made from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, reduce rotational mass for quicker stopping response. The design allows the outer rotor section to expand and contract independently, minimizing warping due to heat. Cross-drilled rotors are recommended for daily-driven vehicles as they tend to run cooler, while slotted rotors are suggested for track use to help manage heat, dust, and gases. All rotors are heat-treated and balanced.
