The Ksport Procomp Big Brake Kit is a sophisticated bolt-on brake upgrade engineered to significantly enhance stopping power for your Volvo S40 FWD. The Procomp system features lightweight, forged one-piece calipers, constructed from a solid billet of aerospace-quality aluminum. This construction method eliminates weak spots common in cast or welded calipers, preventing fracturing, warpage, and failure. The calipers utilize aluminum pistons that offer better heat resistance and are protected by heavy-duty seals capable of handling racetrack temperatures. An opposed-piston design ensures consistent brake pad grip and wear, while standard features include high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The rotor's design allows the outer section to expand and contract independently, greatly reducing the chances of warping due to heat. Lightweight center sections, crafted from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, reduce rotational mass for improved stopping response. This kit comes standard with SC5 Street Pads, which offer optimal braking performance for street and occasional track use with reduced dust and noise. An upgrade to RCI Race Pads is available for extreme track conditions. Additional customization options include various caliper colors, rotor styles (cross-drilled or slotted), and upgrades for the center bell. The kit also includes D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines, which eliminate line expansion under pressure for quicker pedal response and a firmer pedal feel compared to stock rubber lines.
