This kit is specifically designed for the Mazda Miata models from 1989-1997, offering a sophisticated bolt-on solution. It surpasses the Procomp kit with larger calipers, rotors, and brake pads, in addition to an increased number of pistons and standard full-floating rotors that enhance self-centering within the caliper for improved performance and reduced drag. The calipers themselves are a testament to advanced engineering, featuring a lightweight forged one-piece construction from aerospace-quality aluminum. This method ensures uniform thickness and exceptional strength, completely avoiding issues associated with cast or welded designs. The aluminum pistons within the calipers offer superior heat resistance, ensuring uncompromised operation even under demanding conditions. Included in this kit are Ksport's SC5 Street Pads, made from NAOC Ceramic material. These pads provide excellent braking performance for daily driving and occasional track sessions, boasting a reduction in brake dust by over 50% compared to race pads, along with significantly less noise and rotor wear. They perform optimally in temperatures ranging from 194°F to 1022°F. For enhanced brake line performance, DOT-compliant stainless-steel braided lines are standard. These lines eliminate expansion under pressure, resulting in a quicker pedal response and a firmer, more reliable pedal feel over stock rubber lines. The rotors are a floating two-piece design, allowing the outer section to shift slightly for better self-centering. This feature minimizes brake drag and maximizes braking efficiency. Customers can choose between Slotted or Cross Drilled rotors, with Cross Drilled recommended for daily drivers due to cooler running temperatures, and Slotted rotors preferred for track-focused vehicles.
