Procomp Rear Big Brake Kit

The Ksport Procomp Big Brake Kit is engineered to significantly enhance the stopping power of your 1989-1997 Mazda MX-5. This rear kit features a lightweight, one-piece caliper CNC machined from aircraft-quality billet aluminum, weighing just over 5 lbs. The caliper utilizes a differential bore configuration and an opposed-piston design to improve pad wear and rigidity over the stock system. Standard components include aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, and stainless steel brake pad wear plates. This kit incorporates a 2-piece disc assembly, comprising a 286mm fixed-type, slotted rotor with machined aluminum hats, which reduces rotating and unsprung weight for quicker response and shorter stopping distances. The unique slot design on the rotor helps to expel gas and pad debris more efficiently and reduces braking noise. For optimal performance and longevity, all rotors are heat-treated and balanced before shipment. The included DOT-compliant stainless steel brake lines prevent expansion under pressure, ensuring a firmer pedal feel. Reinforced carbon steel caliper brackets allow these larger-than-OEM calipers to bolt directly onto the existing mounting points. However, it is important to note that the OEM handbrake will not function with this rear big brake kit.
