ProComp Rear Big Brake Kit

The Ksport ProComp Big Brake Kit is a direct-fit rear brake upgrade engineered to enhance braking performance for the 2009-2013 Volkswagen Golf GTI. The calipers are constructed from a solid billet of aircraft-grade aluminum, offering exceptional strength and light weight. They feature a 1-piece design and opposed-piston configuration to improve pad grip and minimize uneven wear. Aluminum pistons are utilized for their superior heat resistance and lighter weight compared to steel, while also preventing corrosion. Reinforced carbon steel caliper brackets ensure these larger-than-OEM calipers can bolt directly onto existing mounting points. This kit includes 2-piece vented and slotted rotors made from cast iron with aluminum centers. This design reduces rotational mass, leading to quicker braking response and shorter stopping distances. The 2-piece construction also allows for more freedom in expansion and contraction, significantly reducing the chance of rotor warpage. Stainless steel brake lines are included to prevent expansion under high temperatures and pressures, resulting in a firmer and more responsive pedal feel. The slotted rotors are specifically recommended for track use as their grooves help to dissipate heat, dust, and gases. The kit comes with Street pads, featuring a long-lasting, low-dust ceramic compound suitable for street use. The minimum required wheel diameter for this kit is 432mm (17").
