Constructed with a focus on strength and weight reduction, the calipers are forged from a single billet of aerospace-quality aluminum, eliminating weak spots common in cast or welded designs. The aluminum pistons, coupled with heavy-duty seals, are built to withstand high temperatures, ensuring smooth operation and preventing corrosion. The opposed-piston design promotes consistent brake pad wear. The 6061-T6 aluminum center sections reduce rotational mass, improving responsiveness. The two-piece design also helps mitigate rotor warping due to heat expansion. For daily driven vehicles, cross-drilled rotors are recommended for cooler operation, while slotted rotors are advised for track use due to their ability to dissipate heat, dust, and gases more effectively. Standard equipment includes SC5 Street Pads, which offer a balance of performance for street and occasional track use with reduced dust and noise. For extreme track conditions, an upgrade to RCI Race Pads is available, though these are not recommended for street use. The kit also includes D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines, which reduce line expansion under pressure for a firmer pedal feel and quicker response.
