The 412 Series shocks feature a simple and durable design, offering a cost-effective improvement to motorcycle suspension. They come with a five-position cam style spring load preload adjuster for easy tuning. These shocks are approved for road use and are available with various style options, including full show-chrome or black covers, and chrome or black springs and end caps. Manufactured in the U.S.A., all shocks are measured center-of-eyelet to center-of-eyelet. When installing on '86-'15 XL models, modifications to the chain/belt guard may be necessary for proper clearance. Shocks that are slightly longer or shorter than OEM length can affect steering by altering the head angle. Heavy Duty applications are recommended for motorcycles operating at or near maximum load rating over 50% of the time. Before purchasing or installing non-OEM length shocks, confirm that wheel travel can be altered without causing clearance issues with components like the swingarm/axle, exhaust, chain/belt guard, or tire.
