The ACT Prolite flywheel kit, model 600140-03, is engineered to enhance performance in various Mazda RX-7 and RX-8 models. This XACT Prolite flywheel represents ACT's lightest offering, featuring the lowest inertia for superior throttle response and quicker acceleration, making it ideal for road racing or rally applications. The design focuses on proper material distribution for maximum strength, lower inertia, good heat tolerance, and rigidity. Furthermore, XACT flywheels are serviceable and can be resurfaced without needing additional parts. Constructed from heat-treated forgings and featuring induction-hardened ring gears for extended life, this flywheel is CAD-designed, CNC-machined, and dynamically computer-balanced for smooth, high-RPM reliability. It utilizes a 125-tooth count and is SFI 1.1 rated. The kit comes complete with the necessary ACT counterweight and includes flywheel bolts (M10-1.25 x 20mm) and counterweight bolts (M8-1.0 x 20mm). This flywheel kit is specifically designed for a wide range of Mazda RX-8 models from 2004 through 2011. While it offers dramatically improved engine response and acceleration, users may experience mild to moderate gear rattle. ACT provides a 12-month warranty on this product and offers comprehensive installation instructions and a product warranty document available online.
