The standard full-floating rotor design promotes better self-centering within the caliper, reducing drag and improving braking performance through more consistent pad application. Calipers are forged from a single billet of aircraft-grade aluminum, making them exceptionally lightweight and strong while resisting corrosion. These calipers also feature aluminum pistons, which offer superior heat resistance and reliable operation under demanding conditions. Ksport's CNC-machined carbon steel caliper brackets ensure a direct bolt-on fit to OEM caliper locations, accommodating the larger caliper dimensions. The Supercomp kit includes 2-piece floating disc assemblies as standard, which reduce both rotating and unsprung weight. The floating design also mitigates thermal stresses from extreme heat, preventing rotor warping and maintaining braking surface integrity. Buyers can choose between slotted or cross-drilled rotors; cross-drilled rotors are recommended for daily driven vehicles as they run cooler, while slotted rotors are better suited for track use due to their ability to expel gases and debris more effectively. Included SC5 Street Pads offer optimal performance for street and occasional track use, significantly reducing dust and noise compared to race pads, with an optimal operating temperature range between 194°F - 1022°F.
