The Toyo Proxes R888R is a DOT competition summer tire that represents an evolution of its race-winning predecessor, the Proxes R888. Drivers will appreciate its predictable handling characteristics and its ability to reach optimal operating temperature rapidly, ensuring consistent performance. Key features include a high-grip race compound for improved cornering grip and consistent performance, an optimized contact patch for enhanced dry traction during braking and acceleration, and a wide center rib for improved directional stability and precise steering response. The tire also incorporates a water evacuation channel to assist with wet traction, and large tread blocks on the outside tread for maximum lateral grip during cornering. The asymmetric tread design is optimized for cornering on the outside, braking and acceleration in the center, and stability on the inside, while also enabling cross-rotation to minimize irregular wear. This tire is specifically recommended for competition events only. With a size of 305/35R18XL, a load index of 105 (2039 lbs per tire), and a speed rating of (Y) up to 186+mph, it is designed for high-performance applications. The minimum recommended wheel width is 10 inches, and the maximum is 12 inches.
