Overview

The Precision PT 5855 Gen.2 is a turbocharger designed for Subaru Impreza WRX and WRX STi models from 2002 onwards. This second-generation turbocharger offers faster response, maximum efficiency, and higher boost pressure. It features a CFD-optimized, milled and forged CEA® high-performance compressor wheel for early response and maximum performance, providing 10% more flow than the Gen. 1 models.

The Precision PT 5855 Gen.2 upgrade turbocharger represents a significant leap in performance for Subaru Impreza WRX and WRX STi models dating back to 2002. As a second-generation unit, it delivers improved response times, enhanced efficiency, and the capability for higher boost pressures compared to its predecessors. At its core, this turbocharger utilizes a state-of-the-art, CFD-optimized, milled, and forged CEA® (Center Housing Rotating Assembly) high-performance compressor wheel. This advanced design ensures maximum efficiency and promotes earlier spool-up, contributing to a more responsive driving experience and ultimately, higher overall performance. Precision Turbo states that this Gen.2 model offers 10% more flow than the Gen. 1 Precision turbos. Key features of the PT 5855 Gen.2 include a robust ball bearing system for durability and smooth operation, and it is both water- and oil-cooled to maintain optimal operating temperatures under demanding conditions. The turbine side features a 58 mm inlet and a 55 mm outlet. Additionally, it comes equipped with a heavy-duty 20 PSI actuator, ready to handle increased boost levels. The high-flow compressor housing is also pre-machined to facilitate the easy installation of an optional speed sensor.
