The Mikuni TM36-68 is a Pumper Flat Slide Carburetor from Mikuni's TM Series, engineered to deliver substantial performance gains over traditional VM round slide carburetors. The advanced flat slide design facilitates improved airflow dynamics by allowing air to pass more rapidly and smoothly through the venturi and jet blocks, establishing a smooth bore effect. This increased air velocity generates a more potent vacuum at the needle jet, which translates to more accurate fuel metering and a heightened throttle response. The TM36-68 is supplied pre-jetted and ready for installation, making it a convenient upgrade. This specific model is stated to deliver exceptional performance improvements on the Yamaha SR500, TT500, and XT500 engines. It is noted that ordering the required Intake Manifold (2-258) and Manifold Gasket (5-023) is necessary for proper installation.
