R Series Clutch Kit

The JHM R Series Clutch Kit is a performance upgrade designed for the B7-RS4, developed over years of research and in-car testing by JHMotorsports. The kit features a proprietary JHM R Series Pressure Plate, which is a non-self-adjusting (non-SAC) design. This allows for the use of more aggressive clutch discs that can hold more power and withstand greater abuse, unlike the OEM B7-S4 pressure plate which would be overwhelmed. The diaphragm in the R Series pressure plate is custom-designed specifically for the B7-RS4 and B6-B7 S4s, ensuring a proper fit without band-aid solutions. Key features include a 43% increase in clamp load torque holding capacity compared to the stock B7-RS4 pressure plate, and a 25% increase in clutch pedal stiffness. The pressure plate's spring design provides better clutch pedal control and modulation, with a more linear spring pressure curve for predictable uptake and engagement. Thicker pressure plate straps enhance longevity and durability. Buyers can choose from three distinct clutch disc options to suit their needs: Stage 1 R (Organic/Organic) for a balance of daily driveability and torque capacity, Stage 3 R (Ceramic/Metal Backed Organic) for enhanced driveability, torque holding, and durability for repeated hard pulls, or the Stage 5 R (6-Puck Ceramic/Ceramic) for ultimate aggressive performance, capable of handling significant power. The Stage 5 R disc was used in a record-setting B7-RS4. This clutch kit includes the JHM R Series pressure plate, the chosen JHM R Series clutch disc, pressure plate to flywheel bolts, a throwout bearing, and a clutch alignment tool. A proper 500-mile break-in period, primarily through city driving and avoiding aggressive use, is required for all R Series Clutch Discs.
