The HKS Intercooler Kit is designed for the 2017+ Honda Civic Type R FK8. It replaces the stock intercooler with a larger, redesigned core, doubling the intercooler volume. Cast one-piece aluminum end tanks and aluminum piping ensure smooth airflow and zero deformation under high performance conditions. This kit includes clamps and joints for factory fitment.

The HKS R-Type Intercooler Kit is specifically engineered for the Honda Civic Type R FK8 (2017-2021), addressing the limitations of the stock intercooler. The K20C engine in these vehicles can experience intake air temperatures nearing 90℃ due to insufficient stock intercooler capacity when boost pressure exceeds 150kPa. This R-Type kit utilizes a significantly larger core, measuring 695mm x 178mm x 100mm, which boasts a core capacity approximately 200% greater than the OEM unit, ensuring superior cooling efficiency. Beyond the core, the design integrates the inlet side tank with the intercooler pipe. This integration promotes a smoother airflow path, mitigating the sharp bends found in the stock piping that can impede performance and cause boost pressure loss. The kit includes cast, one-piece aluminum end tanks and aluminum piping, offering durability and preventing deformation under high-performance conditions. Minor modifications to the fan shroud and rubber components are required for installation, which typically takes around 4 hours. I/C IN & OUT pipes are included. In testing, this HKS intercooler kit demonstrated impressive results, supporting up to 383HP and 376TQ with minimal temperature issues, making it suitable for handling high power demands, especially with the OEM turbocharger.
