The RENNtech R2 Performance Package is an evolution of the R1 package, designed to enhance the W221 S 63 AMG Sedan's performance and sound. This comprehensive kit includes a RENNtech ECU Upgrade, a 3rd Generation Diverter Valve, BMC High-Flow Air Filters, and Stainless Steel Sport Mufflers. These components work together to deliver significant power gains. The R2 package can add up to +153 HP and +232 LB-FT of torque to the M157 5.5L V8 BiTurbo engine. The hand-crafted T-304 stainless steel sport mufflers feature 2 3/4" tubing, offering reduced weight and improved performance through decreased back pressure, enhanced exhaust gas flow, and better cylinder scavenging. This performance upgrade aims to boost the S 63 AMG's output to 716 hp and 826 lb-ft without compromising daily driver comfort or reliability, providing substantial gains across the entire RPM range. It is crucial to use 93 Octane or higher gasoline with R2 upgraded RENNtech vehicles to prevent engine damage. The package also requires a core charge for the OEM turbo pipes, which is credited upon their return in good condition.
