The NGK Red R8 U5014 ignition coils are designed as a direct replacement for factory-equipped coils in performance vehicles such as the Audi R8 and Audi RS6, identified by the 06E905115E VAG part number. This set of four coils offers an upgrade path for worn or failing ignition components, aiming to enhance overall engine performance and reliability. The NGK U5014 model is specifically chosen for its ability to provide a more robust spark, contributing to smoother engine operation and potentially better fuel combustion. While these coils are a direct fit for many TSI, TFSI, and 1.8 20VT engines, specific adaptations are noted for certain applications. For the 1.4 TSI engine, the RTMG Performance Billet Adapter and a pin-out change are required for proper installation. Similarly, the 1.8 20VT engine will require the RTMG Performance R8 20VT Billet adapter to ensure compatibility and correct function.
