The AR Design Race Cat Downpipe is meticulously handcrafted in the USA from premium 304 stainless steel, featuring a full 3-inch diameter tubing that extends to the cat-back flange. This design ensures maximum flow, unlike systems that reduce to 2.5 inches closer to the turbocharger. The downpipes are 100% TIG welded with argon back-purging for superior strength and durability, and include water-jet cut 304 stainless cat-back flanges and CNC'd 304 stainless V-Band flanges. This system is engineered to significantly reduce turbo lag and increase power, with typical gains of around 30bhp when paired with tuning. It offers an intoxicating and exotic exhaust sound, transforming the driving experience. The downpipes come with AR Design's exclusive "bomb-proof" exhaust gaskets and high-strength Grade 10.9 metric hardware, as well as Nord-Lock positive locking washers for added reliability. Factory location O2 bungs are included for ease of installation. Available options include a ceramic coating rated up to 2000°F, which comes with a 3-year warranty against corrosion and rust for the original owner. The product itself is backed by a lifetime warranty against any manufacturing defects for the original owner. AR Design intentionally avoids grinding or polishing their welds, as this can compromise weld integrity and heat resistance, especially critical in high-temperature applications exceeding 1200°F. This downpipe kit is designed specifically for the 2007-2010 BMW 135i, 335i, and 1M models equipped with the N54 engine (E90, E92, E82 chassis).
