The IE PERFORMANCE IECVA1-1 is a race exhaust camshaft engineered to optimize performance in larger-sized aftermarket turbo builds for VW/Audi 1.8T 20V engines. When paired with the matching IE Race Intake Camshaft (IECVA1-2) or Street/Race Intake Camshaft (IECVA2-2), this combination is designed for builds targeting 500-850+ horsepower with an ideal powerband from 5500RPM to 8500+RPM. This aggressive camshaft features a 267-degree advertised duration, 218 degrees at 0.050" lift, 0.403" lift, and a 108-degree centerline angle (CLA). It is specifically designed for the 1.8T 20V engines (06A & 058 code) and offers straightforward installation due to its pre-set cam sprocket and factory-style timing mark. Due to its aggressive profile and the increased demands of larger turbos and higher RPM limits, upgrading valve springs and retainers is highly recommended. For optimal valvetrain harmonics, safe revving, and extended cylinder head life, integrating an IE 1.8T 20V Valve Spring & Retainer Kit is advised. The factory camshafts are tuned for stock turbos and low RPMs, whereas this performance camshaft sequences the valvetrain to work with higher boost pressures and higher RPMs from aftermarket turbochargers, unlocking significant power gains when properly set up. This camshaft produces a lopey idle and is recommended for race use.
