This results in more consistent power delivery and increased reliability, with a reduced risk of pre-detonation and knock. VRSF found that a standard 2nd-4th gear pull could lead to a 55-60 degree temperature increase on an OEM setup, whereas their Race intercooler achieved a reduction in temperature during similar testing. This intercooler features a high-density bar and plate core with a staggered and offset fin pack, meticulously tuned to maximize cooling while minimizing pressure drop. Unlike the OEM tube-and-fin design, which can be overwhelmed by increased boost and airflow, the VRSF core is also significantly more durable and better equipped to handle road debris. The end tanks are 3D CAD-designed, cast aluminum, and one-piece seamless, offering improved flow and greater durability compared to sheet metal alternatives. The intercooler is finished in a bright silver coating for corrosion resistance. Installation is a complete plug-and-play, bolt-in process, with all necessary hardware included. The design incorporates tabs for retaining the factory fan shroud, and the end tanks utilize OEM intercooler piping. Each unit is hand-finished and pressure tested for a leak-free experience. This kit is 117% larger than the OEM intercooler and measures 21" x 11" x 6". It is compatible with both Left Hand Drive (LHD) and Right Hand Drive (RHD) models, as well as all XI models.
