This improved airflow is designed to deliver noticeable performance gains, with recent testing indicating an increase of 5-8 horsepower to the wheels. The system is available with your choice of two filter types: a time-proven, washable, and reusable multi-layer cotton gauze oiled filter, or a new DRY disposable paper media filter designed to last up to 30,000 miles. Crafted from lightweight aluminum tubing, this intake not only enhances performance but also contributes to a deeper, more aggressive engine roar. This intake is CARB exempt under number D-236-15, ensuring compliance with emissions regulations. It is proudly manufactured in the USA and includes all necessary hardware for a complete installation. The Neuspeed Race Series intake positions the filter element in the front, driver's side inner fender compartment. Due to this placement, it is not recommended for vehicles frequently driven in wet weather conditions or areas with excessive standing water; in such cases, the traditional P-Flo short ram system is suggested. This intake system is specifically designed for the VW MKIV Golf/Jetta models equipped with 1.8T or 2.8L engines, fitting model years 1999-2005. It requires the vehicle to have a factory air pump.
