The Empi 98-1381-B is a racing cylinder head designed for air-cooled Volkswagens. It features 40mm x 35.5mm stainless steel valves with a competition valve job and single hi-rev valve springs. This head is cut for 85.5mm pistons and has beefed-up intake and exhaust ports that are 20% larger than stock, allowing for significant porting without welding.

The Empi GTV-2 Complete Racing Cylinder Head is engineered for performance in air-cooled Volkswagens. This dual-port head features 40mm intake and 35.5mm stainless steel exhaust valves, a competition valve job, and single hi-rev valve springs. It is machined to accommodate 85.5mm pistons. The cylinder head casting offers beefed-up intake and exhaust ports, providing 20% more volume than stock and allowing for extensive porting without the need for welding. Constructed from a special aluminum alloy for strength, durability, and repairability, it also includes added material around the combustion chamber for deep fly-cutting and thick interior walls for porting. Key specifications include a 56cc combustion chamber, accommodation for 12mm 3/4" reach spark plugs, chromoly retainers, and hardened valve stem keepers. This performance head comes ready to run but is also ideal for hand porting to achieve custom performance levels. It includes rocker arm studs and intake and exhaust studs.
