The Tomioka Racing TR-TS1042 turbocharger is engineered as a direct-fit upgrade for the Subaru FA20DIT engine, offering enhanced performance and OEM-level reliability. This next-generation GTX29 turbo features a dual ceramic ball bearing system for improved durability and a point-milled billet compressor wheel designed to optimize airflow and minimize turbulence, contributing to quicker spool times and broader power gains. This turbocharger boasts a larger turbine wheel (61mm) compared to previous generations, along with a 72mm compressor wheel. It is designed for a 100% bolt-on installation, with all necessary gaskets and hardware included to simplify the process. The unit features a 10cm2 turbine housing and comes equipped with a 1.03 bar / 15 psi actuator, making it capable of supporting up to 600 horsepower. It is compatible with the standard Subaru 5-bolt flange. Applications for this turbo include the 2015+ Subaru WRX and the 2014+ Subaru Forester (FA20DIT models). The design focuses on delivering quick spool characteristics, improving the overall power band, and boosting top-end power without sacrificing daily drivability. The included TR billet wastegate actuator helps maintain factory-like spool while providing headroom for increased power output when desired.
