The ATS Diesel 47RE Racing Valve Body is engineered to resolve common issues found in stock Dodge automatic transmissions, particularly those with the 47RE and 48RE transmissions used in 1996-2002 5.9L Cummins engines. Stock valve bodies are prone to problems with the throttle valve (TV valve) sticking or the valve body bore wearing out due to friction. This wear can lead to malfunctions and improper gear shifts. ATS has developed an innovative solution with their Hydro-balanced Valve and Sleeve assembly. This design alters both the shape and material of the valve, while incorporating a hardened sleeve into the valve body's bore. This prevents sticking and wear, ensuring the valves operate smoothly and effectively over time. The assembly allows for an altered hydraulic flow, providing a more aggressive line pressure slope for quality shifts and torque converter clutch engagement. Key features of the Racing Edition valve body include a progressive line rise, the capability for 1st-2nd gear lock-up, and optimization for 3000RPM governor springs, all contributing to increased reliability. This product is designed for Dodge Ram 2500/3500 models equipped with the 5.9L Cummins diesel engine and an automatic transmission. It is sold as a kit and is available in both Racing and Towing variants for different year ranges from 1996 to early 1999, and late 1999 to 2002.
