The Steeroids Rack and Pinion steering conversion kit provides a significant upgrade for 1955-1962 Corvettes, replacing the original 1940s steering design with modern 21st-century technology. This kit is designed as a true bolt-on solution, eliminating the need for any drilling, cutting, or welding on your Corvette. The primary benefits include a more responsive and tighter steering feel, along with a lighter overall weight compared to the stock system. This power-assisted kit features a quick-ratio rack, delivering approximately 2.5 turns lock-to-lock, enhancing control and maneuverability. The included steering column is available in chrome, black, or paintable finishes to match your Corvette's interior. Installation is straightforward with basic hand tools and is estimated to take approximately 6 hours. The complete kit includes the rack & pinion unit, powder-coated black adapter brackets, self-cleaning and lubricating, Teflon-lined adjustable tie rod ends, a u-joint assembly, and the chosen steering column. For power steering configurations, the kit also comes with a power steering pump, pulley, engine mount brackets, and hoses. Important Fitment Note: This 1953-1962 Steeroids Rack & Pinion kit is specifically designed for C1 Corvettes WITHOUT HEADERS.
