RAD 480i Radar and Laser Detector

The Cobra RAD 480i radar detector offers advanced technology for enhanced safety on the road. It provides long-range detection and utilizes Digital Signal Processing (DSP) for rapid and accurate alerts. The device connects via Bluetooth to the Drive Smarter app, which grants access to features like speed-based sensitivity adjustments and the Defender Database, a nationwide network of red light and speed camera locations. The RAD 480i detects X, K, Ka, and Laser band radar signals, and its LaserEye technology is capable of detecting LiDAR from both the front and rear. Users can select between Highway and City modes to optimize performance based on driving conditions. The detector comes with a windshield mounting bracket, a 12V vehicle power adapter, and a dashboard adhesive mount, making installation straightforward. Some users have reported occasional false alarms and issues with specific vehicle power outlets not providing sufficient voltage, and note that band segmentation is not a feature of this model, requiring a different model for that capability.
