The PowerBass 3XL-810D is an 8-inch subwoofer engineered to deliver exceptional high output sound. This model boasts a redesigned look and enhanced innovation, making it PowerBass's most accomplished High Output Subwoofer to date. It is specifically built to handle the extreme heat produced by modern Class D amplifiers, which can heat voice coils two to three times hotter and faster than traditional amplifiers. To combat this heat, the 3XL series employs industrial assembly glues made in the USA. It also features perimeter venting built into its custom-cut, cast aluminum basket to allow air movement over the voice coil. The foundation of this subwoofer is its heavy-duty, non-pressed raw pulp paper cone and an inverted PBX dust cap. The 8-inch model includes a 2.5-inch HD BASV voice coil former with high-temperature winding for superior heat dissipation. An ultra-high roll foam surround increases cone area for higher output and maintains linear cone stability during peak excursion. Connectivity is handled by square spring-loaded nickel-plated push terminals, ensuring high voltages reach the subwoofer. The design also incorporates an FEA-optimized, extra-large double-stacked motor structure for maximum performance. This subwoofer is designed for both sealed and ported enclosures and is available in dual 1-ohm or dual 2-ohm configurations to optimize amplifier power delivery.
