Radi-CAL Competition Front Brake Kit

The AP Racing by Essex Radi-CAL Competition Brake Kit represents a significant upgrade for the front braking system of the ND Mazda Miata and Fiat 124 Spider (2016+). This kit utilizes AP Racing's CP9449 Radi-CAL four-piston calipers, renowned for their patented asymmetrical design which offers a substantial increase in both static and dynamic stiffness (over 30%). This enhanced stiffness translates to superior pedal feel, modulation, more even pad wear, and extended caliper service life. The calipers boast a jewel-like, incredibly durable, and easy-to-clean Electroless Nickel Plated (ENP) finish, a treatment previously reserved for professional race teams. The kit also includes robust 340x28mm AP Racing J Hook discs designed to resist extreme track heat. Despite being larger than OEM units, the entire system is engineered to save 6 lbs of unsprung weight from the front of the vehicle. The caliper pistons are precisely sized to ensure seamless integration with the OEM master cylinder, ABS system, and OEM rear brakes, making it a suitable upgrade for high horsepower, forced-induction applications. The kit includes caliper mounting brackets, hardware, and Spiegler Stainless Steel Brake Lines with an abrasion-resistant coating. Brake pads are not included, allowing users to select their preferred racing compound. An optional Pad Tension Kit is available to reduce pad rattle, minimizing noise and ensuring consistent pad placement. Wheel fitment should be carefully considered. While the template provided on the manufacturer's site can confirm fitment, OEM 17-inch wheels will require a 15mm spacer for proper clearance.
