The Behr radiator is engineered as a direct OE replacement for your vehicle's cooling system. Its primary function is to efficiently expel heat from the engine coolant through its fins, ensuring optimal engine operating temperature. Common radiator failures include cracked end tanks leading to leaks, or clogged and bent fins that impede heat dissipation and can cause overheating. This specific radiator is designed for BMW models equipped with automatic transmissions and the N52 engine. It is crucial to note that this part **will not fit vehicles with a SULEV N51 engine**. Furthermore, it does not include an ozone sensor and is not compatible with SULEV vehicles due to emissions coating requirements and the presence of an ozone sensor on the stock radiator. When replacing your radiator, it is also highly recommended to inspect and potentially replace the upper and lower radiator hoses. This Behr radiator features a standard style drain plug with a 6-point plastic nut on the bottom of the left end tank, which is pre-installed and not a replaceable item.
