A fuel surge tank (FST) prevents fuel starvation in vehicles with inadequate fuel tank baffling, especially during aggressive driving or with high-demand power upgrades like forced induction. It acts as a buffer, constantly supplying fuel to the FST pump(s) even if the main lift pump temporarily starves. Excess fuel is returned to the main tank. This redesigned 2024 MPFST offers increased support for various fuel pumps, including brushless pumps. It features a swirl pot design to eliminate air bubbles and fuel foam, anodized aluminum pump brackets, and gasoline, ethanol, and methanol-compliant internal wiring. The pump power connections use anti-rotation high-current electrical studs.
