Overview

The Terrafirma TF1040 is a raised air intake, also known as a snorkel, designed for the Land Rover Discovery 3 and 4. Co-designed by Mantec and Terrafirma, this snorkel provides improved airflow to the engine, potentially leading to more power, smoother acceleration, and better fuel efficiency. It is manufactured from durable, impact-resistant LLDPE that is UV and temperature stable.

The snorkel draws clean air from the highest point of the vehicle and features modern styling with aerodynamic features that fit the body contours without obscuring the driver's view. It is suitable for DIY or workshop fitment.

The Terrafirma TF1040 is a co-designed raised air intake (snorkel) from Mantec and Terrafirma, engineered for the Land Rover Discovery 3 and 4 (2004-2016 models). This snorkel system allows your engine to draw in a significant volume of clean air directly from the roofline, which can result in increased power output, more responsive acceleration, and improved fuel economy, regardless of the terrain. Constructed from robust, rotational-molded, impact-resistant LLDPE (linear low-density polyethylene), the TF1040 is built to withstand harsh conditions. This material is chosen for its durability, resistance to discoloration, and stability across varying UV exposure and temperatures. The design incorporates modern styling and aerodynamic elements, ensuring a perfect fit to the vehicle's body contours without obstructing the driver's field of vision, and mimics the appearance of a genuine Land Rover raised air intake at a more accessible price point. This raised air intake system is suitable for Land Rover Discovery 3 and 4 models equipped with the 2.7L & 3.0L TDV6 engines, as well as the 4.0L, 4.4L, and 5.0L petrol engines. While this snorkel enhances engine performance and reliability in extreme conditions, it is important to note that it does not transform the vehicle into a submarine. Significant additional modifications are required to fully waterproof a vehicle for extended deep water wading. The TF1040 is in the Mantec Design and is exclusive to Terrafirma.
