The VCM OTR Intake is a high-performance cold air intake system engineered to deliver substantial horsepower and torque increases for specific Pontiac G8 and Chevrolet Caprice models. Utilizing an over-the-radiator (OTR) design, this kit maximizes airflow through a straight ram-air path and a massive K&N air filter, feeding cooler ambient air into the engine for greater power gains. Expect an increase of up to 20-30 HP over stock, with potential for 45-55 HP with a proper tune. This updated design incorporates a revised PCV line setup, positioning it after the MAF sensor to prevent lean codes. The injection-molded housing splits for easy filter maintenance and ensures an airtight seal to prevent air bypass. Installation is straightforward, typically taking around 45 minutes with basic hand tools. The kit includes upper radiator mounting brackets to allow the radiator to be tilted back slightly for fitment. Optional components are available for enhanced compatibility. Aftermarket MAFs and throttle bodies may require additional silicone couplers, which are sold separately. The intake can also be configured for MAF-less operation using a separate adapter kit, which necessitates a custom speed-density tune. Infill and side finishing panels are also available separately. Included in the kit are the OTR intake, a K&N air filter (part number KVE-400), an extended PCV hose, two upper radiator mounting brackets, and all necessary couplers, clamps, and hardware.
