Overview

The Banks Ram-Air Transmission Pan is an aftermarket upgrade designed to improve transmission cooling and longevity for 2001-2019 GM trucks with Allison 1000 transmissions. It features a Ram-Air scoop for forced air cooling and adds two additional quarts of fluid capacity. The pan is constructed from die-cast A380 aluminum with CNC machined surfaces.

The Banks Ram-Air Transmission Pan is engineered to provide superior heat rejection for 2001-2019 Chevy/GMC 2500/3500 trucks equipped with the 6.6L Duramax diesel engine and Allison 1000 transmission. This pan utilizes Ram-Air technology, drawing in cool air through a forward-facing scoop to enhance cooling via its external heat radiation fins. It also increases fluid capacity by two quarts, contributing to cooler operating temperatures and extended transmission life. Constructed from A380 aluminum using a die-cast process for a denser, smoother interior compared to sand-cast alternatives, this transmission pan features "FlowThru Fins®." These fins, both internally and externally, are strategically placed to maximize heat transfer from the transmission fluid to the ambient air. The pan boasts 24 external radiator fins and 18 internal absorption fins, offering significantly more surface area for heat dissipation (72% more heat absorption and 141% more cooling surface area than stock). A 1/8" NPT port is included for easy installation of a supplemental temperature sensor. The scoop is designed as a sacrificial component that breaks away to prevent damage to the pan in case of impact. The product includes 12 stainless steel M6 flange hex bolts for installation. Recommended installation time is 2 hours. Fluid filters and gaskets may need to be purchased separately, with specific GM part numbers provided for 5-speed and 6-speed Allison 1000 transmissions.
