RC 12 - 10 CAPSTAN HYD 3/8" CHAIN

Maxwell's RC series windlasses, including the RC12, feature the patented Wave Design™ chainwheel for improved handling and control of rope/chain rode. This design guides the rope and chain smoothly, grips the rope more securely in a 'wave pattern' action, and increases rope longevity. The RC12 series can retrieve and deploy 10mm–13mm (3/8″–1/2”) short link chain and 16mm–22mm (5/8″–7/8”) 8-Plait rope. It offers multiple configurations (anti-clockwise, capstan, low profile, extended deck clearance) and is built with marine-grade (AISI 316) stainless steel components, including the deck plate, chain pipe cover, pressure arm, stripper arm, chainwheel, and fluted capstan drum. Key features include a through-deck hawse pipe, a double cone-type brake/clutch mechanism for 'Free Fall' anchoring, and Maxwell’s unique “Active Latch Ratchet System” for emergency manual retrieval to prevent backwind. The Maxwell-designed gearbox offers fast installation, corrosion resistance, easy maintenance, a compact footprint, a 75:1 ratio, and single-stage design for smoother, quieter operation with multi-positioning flexibility. Maxwell windlasses require a chain stopper and/or snubbing device to manage load while at anchor and secure the anchor during transit. This windlass is available with components for fully automatic dual direction control and in a version with extra deck clearance.
