The Maxwell RC8-6 Series Windlass is a fully automatic rope/chain anchor winch designed for efficiency and durability. The RC8-6CAP12V model can be used with 1/4" (6 mm) chain spliced to 1/2" (12 mm) three-strand or 8-plait rope. It features the revolutionary and patented Wave Design™ chainwheel, capable of accommodating a wide range of chain pitch differences within the specified chain size diameters suitable for the RC8 Series. Both sleek, low-profile and MAX-grip™ capstan drum versions are available. The windlass offers a simple two-piece installation for easy retrofitting without disassembly, and a unique spacer tube design allows installation through virtually any deck thickness. Multiple mounting positions and a self-aligning gearbox ensure optimal placement. The top works can be fully disassembled using a provided handle, screwdriver, and Allen key for maintenance. Manufactured from marine-grade 316 stainless steel, it guarantees long-term durability. A heavy-duty stainless steel pressure arm, combined with a large wire diameter, pre-loaded stainless steel spring, effectively grasps the rope/chain splice for unparalleled performance. The RC8 is also effective with all-chain rodes for a low-profile aesthetic. A large hawse pipe throat ensures easy entry and exit of the rode into the anchor locker. The cone-type clutch/brake mechanism allows for manual, free-fall anchoring. It features a sealed oil bath and a marine-grade hard-anodized alloy gearbox that provides high-efficiency output drive via a precision worm and worm wheel. The Maxwell Wave Design Chain Wheels meet DIN 766, EN818, ISO4565, Grade L (AUS), ISO (G30 G43), and limited NACM standards. The package includes the Maxwell RC8-6 Series Windlass, a dual direction solenoid pack, circuit breaker/isolator panel, up/down remote control panel, and an emergency crank/clutch release handle.
