It features an internal voltage regulator and provides 55-amp output for various electrical needs. This unit is a direct replacement for 1973–1979 Beetles and Ghias, and can be used for generator-to-alternator conversions in earlier 12V models. The aluminum housing is built for durability in high-heat environments.
