Rear Aluminum Driveshaft

The Driveshaft Shop FDSH55-A is a rear aluminum driveshaft engineered for the 2015-2017 Ford Mustang GT when fitted with a GT500 TR6060 conversion. This direct-fit replacement addresses the factory Guibo coupler by replacing it with a billet plate and a robust 1350 Spicer u-joint. The shaft utilizes a 6-bolt CV, which DSS prefers over sliders for its superior stability at high speeds and reduced harmonic potential, leading to improved performance and a more direct feel. Constructed from lightweight aluminum with a 3.5-inch diameter, this 1-piece driveshaft is designed to be half-way between steel and carbon fiber in terms of torsional twist, offering a balance of performance enhancement and durability. The ends are forged or billet, avoiding the use of less expensive cast components. This design aims to reduce harmonics and improve acceleration, contributing to better 60ft times over the stock two-piece steel driveshaft. Installation requires critical attention to the vehicle's rear subframe/cradle. A Rear Subframe/Cradle Lock-out kit MUST be installed PRIOR to installing this 1-piece driveshaft. Failure to properly reinforce the rear cradle and limit movement can lead to damage to the driveshaft and will VOID the warranty. Additionally, emergency brake cable bracket clearance and potential relocation may be necessary; failure to check this clearance could also damage the driveshaft and void the warranty.
