The Ksport BKMD120-423CO Procomp Big Brake Kit offers a sophisticated bolt-on upgrade for your Mercedes Benz SLK's rear braking system, engineered to provide superior stopping power, especially under sustained high-heat conditions. This kit is designed for easy installation with minimal tools and no vehicle modifications required in most applications, fitting 16-inch wheels and above. The calipers are crafted from a single billet of aircraft-grade aluminum, ensuring lightweight construction, unparalleled strength, and corrosion resistance. They feature aluminum pistons for better heat dissipation and an opposed-piston design for consistent brake pad wear. High-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless steel brake pad wear plates are standard. This kit includes lightweight two-piece rotors available in either drilled or slotted configurations. Drilled rotors are recommended for daily driven vehicles as they run cooler, while slotted rotors are better suited for track use as they help dissipate heat, dust, and gases. Both rotor types offer increased "bite" over stock and continuously clean the pad surface. The two-piece design, with its lightweight 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum center sections, reduces rotational mass and minimizes warping due to heat buildup. Standard equipment includes SC5 Street Brake Pads, offering optimal performance for street and occasional track use, with reduced dust and noise. An optional upgrade to RCI Race Pads is available for extreme track conditions. The kit also comes with D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines, which prevent expansion under pressure for quicker pedal response and a firmer pedal feel.
