The Strange Engineering S60 Dana 60 G-Body Rear End (S60) represents a significant upgrade over factory axles, engineered for increased strength, reduced weight, and improved efficiency. Its main caps and housing are constructed from a proprietary nodular iron, offering considerably more durability than standard cast iron. The design incorporates G-Body upper arm mounts and eliminates side carrier shims, utilizing heavy-duty main caps fitted with adjuster nuts. This innovative feature allows for backlash and preload adjustments with a simple turn of a wrench, dramatically reducing the time and effort required for gear or differential changes. The S60 features a robust 9.750-inch ring gear, which is capable of withstanding substantial abuse while remaining more efficient than comparable 9-inch Ford gears, consuming less power. Weighing only slightly more than a 9-inch Ford rear end and marginally more than an aftermarket 12-bolt, it strikes a balance between strength and weight. This package comes standard with a spool, a standard gear set, 35-spline Hy-Tuf axle shafts, 1/2-inch wheel studs, an HD 1350 series pinion yoke, a u-bolt kit, and a steel rear cover. Several gear ratios are available, including standard options like 3.54 through 5.38, and optional Pro Gear Ratios up to 6.17.
