Description

The Honda 91214-PLE-003 is a genuine OEM replacement rear main crankshaft seal, constructed from heat and oil-resistant rubber. This seal is critical for preventing oil leaks at the rear of the engine block, where the crankshaft exits. It is recommended to replace this seal anytime the transmission is removed, such as during clutch jobs, engine rebuilds, or transmission swaps, as reusing an old seal, even if it appears intact, will likely lead to future leaks. Proper installation involves cleaning the crankshaft surface and seal bore, then pressing the new seal in straight using a seal driver or appropriate socket. The seal lip should be lubricated with engine oil before installation, and care should be taken to ensure proper alignment of the transmission and flywheel.
