Rear Cross-Drilled and Slotted Rotor Set

The StopTech Cross-Drilled & Slotted rear rotors are designed as a 1-piece, direct replacement for your vehicle's factory brake system and stock calipers. They offer enhanced cooling and several performance advantages over standard equipment. These rotors feature innovations such as e-coating for rust resistance, double-disc grinding for a precise and smooth finish, full machining of the rotor hats for improved balance, and mill balancing to a tolerance of less than 2 oz-inch to reduce vibration and ensure confident braking. The center-split core castings contribute to proper heat transfer and thermal efficiency for superior braking power and safety. Each rotor is finished with a black e-coating on the hat, inside the cooling vanes, and on the outside edge. This electro-statically applied finish is designed to resist rust for up to 400 hours in salt water exposure, preventing issues like accumulated rust in the hat mounting faces that could lead to installed lateral runout. The double disc grinding process ensures parallelism, eliminates run out, and provides near-perfect disc thickness variation (DTV). This grinding also leaves a non-directional finish on the friction surface, which aids in more effective pad and rotor break-in, contributing to quieter and smoother stops. StopTech utilizes Power Alloy metallurgy in many of their rotors, enhancing the material's carbon and molybdenum content. This improves crack resistance and reduces noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH), helping to achieve established targets for hardness and tensile strength. Directional vanes are incorporated in many popular sports car and light truck applications, acting as more efficient air pumps to improve cooling. This increased airflow leads to greater resistance to brake fade and faster recovery from temperature spikes during aggressive braking.
