Rear Disc Brake Conversion Kit

The Trail-Gear rear disc brake conversion kit is engineered to upgrade the braking system on 2005 and newer Toyota Tacomas equipped with 6-lug axles. Factory drum brakes can be challenging to maintain, especially when using larger off-road tires and carrying additional weight from overlanding gear. This kit allows for the installation of disc calipers and rotors, offering benefits such as easier maintenance and pad replacement. The kit includes robust 3/8" CNC laser-cut caliper brackets with grade 10.9 hardware, providing a solid foundation for the new braking components. It utilizes large GM-style calipers, which are shipped fully loaded, and custom-made GM-style vented rotors designed specifically for Toyota swap applications. Specifications for this conversion kit include 3/8" CNC laser-cut caliper brackets, GM-style floating calipers (shipped loaded), custom GM-style vented rotors, and DOT-approved brake lines. The kit also comes with zinc-plated hardware and the brackets are shipped raw/unpainted. It is important to note that this kit fits 2005+ Tacomas with 6-lug axles only, and the brake calipers are not compatible with the factory E-brake cables.
