The 27WON Performance Rear Engine Mount is engineered to be a direct replacement for your Honda Civic's stock mount, improving power transfer to the wheels. As engine power increases, the factory mount can lose effectiveness, leading to issues like wheel hop and reduced throttle response. This performance upgrade addresses those shortcomings. The mount features an I-beam design, inspired by high-performance connecting rods, to reduce weight (approximately 0.5 lbs lighter than stock) while maintaining strength. It utilizes a single polyurethane isolated mounting point to manage the engine's primary rotational movement. A rigid connection to the chassis sub-frame eliminates secondary up/down motion, thereby reducing associated vibrations and NVH. Available in two durometer options, the 70A street mount offers a significant reduction in torque steer with more civil NVH characteristics compared to the 90A race mount. The 90A race mount is for users prioritizing maximum performance and accepting higher NVH levels. The polyurethane bushings are manufactured from a proprietary blend designed for dynamic loading, shock absorption, and resistance to environmental factors, with a 416 stainless steel sleeve for durability and corrosion resistance. The Gen 2 70A Street Mount kits feature a redesigned bushing and an NVH-reducing washer for improved performance and reduced NVH. Installation is rated at 1/5 difficulty and takes approximately 1 hour. Note that removal of aftermarket front pipes may be required for installation. It is also advised to be mindful of potential oil leaks, particularly from the valve cover, as motor oil can degrade polyurethane components over time.
