Rear Leaf Spring Swap Kit

The Trail Gear TSP-CSK (Low Range Rear Toyota to Chevy Spring Swap Kit) is engineered to enable the installation of popular 63-inch Chevrolet half-ton leaf springs onto Toyota Hilux Pickups, 4Runners, and Tacomas. This swap is favored for the significant improvement in ride quality and off-road flex offered by the Chevy springs compared to the original Toyota components. The kit addresses the dimensional differences between the springs, specifically the 2.5-inch width of Chevy springs versus the approximate 2.25-inch width of Toyota leaves, and the 3-inch wide Chevy spring bushing. Constructed with 1/4-inch thick steel, the kit features laser-cut and formed front hangers designed to be sloped for obstacle clearance. It also includes CNC laser-cut and CNC press-bent 6-inch eye-to-eye shackles and rear shackle hangers with bushings. The rear hangers are designed as Toyota hangers, allowing for a return to stock Toyota leaves in the future if desired. All hardware, including 18MM bolts, crimp nuts, 9/16-inch bolts, washers, nuts, and HD U-bolt plates, is included for a complete installation. This kit requires the purchase of 63-inch Chevrolet leaf springs separately (e.g., from 1988-1998 1/2-ton Chevy or GMC trucks). Longer shocks or relocation of shock mounts will also be necessary, though shocks and mounts are not included with this kit. Installation involves specific frame mounting considerations depending on the Toyota generation (1st/2nd gen: approx. 11" forward; 3rd gen: approx. 9"-9.5" forward). Trail-Gear offers a 12-month limited warranty on this product. However, the warranty specifically excludes failures due to lack of maintenance, misuse, modification, abuse, improper application, crash damage, or unauthorized service. Parts subject to normal wear and tear, such as bushings, and parts not manufactured by Trail-Gear are also excluded. Components used in competitive racing environments are also not covered under warranty.
