The Dobinsons GS59-575 is a rear long travel shock absorber engineered to significantly enhance vehicle handling and control, offering a substantial performance upgrade over standard shocks. Designed, developed, and rigorously tested in Australia, these shocks are built to withstand extreme conditions, from the harsh heat of the Australian outback to subzero temperatures. Featuring a twin-tube, big-bore design, the GS59-575 utilizes larger bodies and bores to reduce shock fade and ensure consistent performance, even under heavy loads or on challenging terrains. The double chromed 18mm rod offers increased strength and corrosion resistance, while natural rubber bushings contribute to a more comfortable ride and reduced noise. However, it's crucial to note that the GS59-575 long travel rear shocks have specific fitment requirements and necessitate additional components for proper operation. These include Dobinsons variable rate coil springs, 3-inch bump stop extensions, and extended brake lines. The product is not suitable for vehicles equipped with KDSS due to its length. Compatibility is specified for various Toyota and Lexus models, including the FJ Cruiser, 4Runner (4th and 5th Gen, non-KDSS), Prado 120, Prado 150 (non-KDSS), and Lexus GX470 (non-KDSS). The direct bolt-in nature simplifies integration, but the additional required components ensure the long travel capabilities are fully realized and the suspension system functions as intended.
