The kit features an extremely lightweight, forged one-piece caliper, CNC machined from aircraft-quality billet. This caliper weighs just over 5 lbs and includes features like a differential bore configuration, machined protection grooves for bridge tubes, aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity compared to OEM components, while stainless-steel brake lines prevent expansion under pressure. The kit utilizes a 2-piece disc assembly to reduce rotating and unsprung weight. Floating disc options are available for some applications to mitigate thermal stresses and prevent warping. Ksport's unique rotor slot design minimizes braking noise and effectively expels gas and debris. Rotors are heat-treated and balanced for optimal performance, with cross-drilled options recommended for daily drivers and slotted rotors for track use. However, it's important to note that for some applications, the OEM handbrake may not function after installation, as indicated for part number BKHY240-442CO. This is a critical consideration for vehicles where the parking brake is integrated into the rear caliper system.
