Description

The Dobinsons GS51-117 rear shock absorber is engineered for improved vehicle handling and control, offering a significant upgrade over standard shocks. It utilizes low-pressure nitrogen gas charging to minimize oil aeration and prevent shock fade during demanding use. Constructed with superior design principles, these shocks feature thicker walls and longer travel for enhanced performance. Key components include Japanese NOK Multi-Lip seals, Fuchs German shock absorber oil, and Natural Rubber Bushings that contribute to reduced noise and vibration while maintaining flexibility. The shock absorber is further enhanced with Teflon Piston Rings and double chrome-hardened rods, protected by a metal shock boot to prevent rod damage. For specific applications, a 9x16x40 sleeve is required for fitment on the upper eye of the Mercedes G55. Vehicle fitment includes various Land Rover models such as the Range Rover (1971-1988), Land Rover Discovery Series I (1991-1999), and Defender models (1984-2001), though it is important to verify exact compatibility for your specific year and model as some listings indicate the part may not fit all entered vehicles.
