Rear Sway Bar Kit

The TRD PLUS Performance rear sway bar is engineered to significantly enhance the handling of your 3rd generation Toyota Prius. This upgrade is ideal for drivers who push their Prius beyond typical driving habits. The kit includes the rear sway bar (PTR11-47010), end links (PTR11-47012), bushings, clamps, and all necessary hardware for a complete installation. The finish is gloss white. Installation can be performed without jacking up the car for those who are sufficiently slim, though using jack stands or automotive ramps is recommended for easier clearance. The process involves greasing bushings, installing end links, attaching outer bushing clamps to the rear axle beam, hanging the sway bar, and then securing it with the provided hardware. Specific torque values are recommended for certain fasteners, such as 44 N-m (32 ft-lb) for end-link nuts and rear sway bar mounting tabs. While this upgrade offers a noticeable improvement in handling, it does not transform the Prius into a sports car. Subtle clicks or pops from the rear might occur as the end-links adapt to chassis flex. Periodic checks of all nuts are recommended every 5,000 miles to ensure tightness, and end-links may require replacement around 75,000 miles.
