These urethane bushings are a direct replacement for the stock rubber components, offering increased stiffness to reduce flex and deflection. This results in improved alignment stability and greater precision during hard cornering.

The Powerflex PFR85-816 rear trailing arm bushings are engineered to replace the stock rubber bushings on Mk7 and Mk8 Volkswagen models with Independent Rear Suspension (IRS). The original rubber bushings are prone to significant flex and deflection, leading to a feeling of instability and a lack of precision, particularly when cornering hard. By utilizing Powerflex's proprietary polyurethane formulation, these bushings offer a stiffer alternative that significantly reduces unwanted deflection. This helps to maintain better alignment control under load, leading to improved handling, enhanced driver feedback, and potentially more even tire wear. The "Street" compound used for this part is rated at 80A, which is approximately 30% stiffer than stock rubber, providing a noticeable improvement in performance without excessive NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) for daily driving. Powerflex uses different durometers (hardness levels) for various suspension locations, ensuring the optimal balance of performance and comfort for each application. The "Street Series" components come with a limited lifetime warranty, offering peace of mind for the user. These bushings are sold as a pair and are designed to fit a range of VW models including the Golf/GTI Mk7, Mk7.5, Mk8, Alltrack Mk7, Sportwagen, GLI, Golf R, and e-Golf, as well as certain Audi A3 models, all requiring the IRS setup.
