The BDE Rebuilt VTC Intake Cam Gear Sprocket Set is engineered to solve prevalent problems found in stock VG30DE(TT) Variable Valve Timing Control (VTC) intake sprockets. Stock units are notorious for oil leaks due to rear covers that can loosen and rotate independently, damaging their o-rings. They also commonly produce a ticking noise when higher-pressure aftermarket valve springs cause the cams to over-rotate, overpowering the piston return spring and leading to the VTC piston slamming back into its stop. This over-rotation can also lead to imprecise intake valve timing and reduced power. BDE rebuilds these VTC sprockets with a specifically engineered piston return spring. This enhanced spring is designed to handle the load required to prevent camshaft over-rotation, even with installed valve spring pressures up to 90 lbs. Oil leaks are eliminated by positively locating the rear cover with a dowel pin, preventing its rotation. The relocated adjuster bolts are moved to the front of the sprockets, making them truly adjustable after installation, allowing for �10� of adjustment from zero on the crankshaft. These sprockets are constructed from 6061 aluminum and are fully adjustable. This product is intended for off-road racing use only. A $500.00 core charge applies per pair, and cores must be the same version as purchased. Cores for late model VTCs will not be accepted towards the purchase of late model VTCs.
